Rick Fisher
A 35-year industry veteran, including 15 years in mastering, his career spans genre and industry.

From his early years working with some of the biggest names in the business, including the Steve Miller Band, Sammy Davis, Jr., and The Temptations, Rick Fisher has maintained quality as the key component in all of his work. His business, RFI Mastering, is the showcase for this quality - from retaining top mastering engineers to using the best mastering equipment and studio. Rick offers a host of services, from custom mastering to archival and recovery services; Rick’s commitment to the artist goes beyond mastering to ensure that no artist ever loses their valuable work.

In 1995, Rick opened the Northwest’s premier studio for mastering in Seattle’s Queen Anne neighborhood. Known for his recording experience, knowledge of digital audio, and familiarity with all aspect of music production, Rick quickly attracted a substantial customer base that kept his small studio filled to capacity. Within two years, Rick added established engineer Ed Brooks to help handle the workload. Their continued success later led to the need for a larger facility, resulting in the relocation of RFI Mastering to its current location in Seattle’s Madison Valley.

In 2010, RFI Mastering reached 15 successful years of operation, with well over 4,000 completed projects. Rick continues to expand his core mastering business and further develop restoration, archival and forensic audio services. Rick recently added a third engineer, Floyd Reitsma, expanded the studio, and looks forward to continuing to support regional, national, and international talent with premium audio mastering.

Ed Brooks
An audio veteran of over 25 years, Ed began his mastering career with RFI Mastering in 1999.

Ed’s early work is peppered with names like REM and Heart, and today he is known for his work with Fleet Foxes, Death Cab for Cutie, and Pearl Jam. When Ed decided to make the switch from producing and engineering, he joined RFI Mastering and quickly made a name for himself in the field.

Ed’s talent as a creative engineer is immediately recognizable. Rick Fisher will be the first to tell you just how amazing his sound is: “Bringing Ed on board was maybe the single smartest thing I have ever done in business. Just check out his work...you’ll understand.” Since then, musicians and producers have caught up with what Rick already knew - Ed is a master of his craft.

Ed’s passion as a musician, engineer and listener combine to deliver a musical tone in the mastering studio. He is an artist, a craftsman, and an innovator who loves listening to music as much as he loves helping create it.

Floyd Reitsma
An 18-year industry veteran, including eight years in mastering.

Floyd Reitsma joined RFI Mastering in 2009, bringing with him years of recording and mastering experience. During his career he has worked with many big names, including recording projects with Dave Matthews and Audioslave, and mastering projects with David Cross and Sub Pop Records.

RFI Mastering founder, Rick Fisher, quickly recognized Floyd’s talent: “While Floyd is relatively new to our team, his work has been exceptional and his project roster is growing daily.” Since joining the RFI Mastering team, Floyd has established himself as a talented engineer that quickly focuses on how to bring out the best in a recording.

Floyd most enjoys bringing music to the finish line and making an artist's project fully realized.
